When did Christianity begin? _____________________________________________
When did Science begin? ________________________________________ SH 128: 4-6.
When did Christian Science begin? The discovery in _______; the book in ________.
The teachings of Christian Science are summarized on SH 497 and SH 304: 9-14.
Here are a few things I really like about Christian Science. It teaches
* God is The Mind and my mind
* God did not require or allow His Son Christ Jesus to die. Instead, God gave him the strength and understanding to live no matter what ‘powers’ were trying to kill him.
* God has been protecting and advancing me even when I didn’t know it or express gratitude.
* God has always provided saints to guide and instruct us, e.g., the prophets, Christ Jesus, Paul, John the Revelator, and Mary Baker Eddy (MBE).
* God showed Ready-miz- Eddy that Christ-likeness can be learned and experienced by everyone because it is a Science that can be learned by any sincere seeker for Truth.
* God showed this saint that all that’s un-good and un-Godlike is unreal, therefore cannot hurt man. God showed her and shows us that all evil is false belief and can / must be cast out of thought.
Put a checkmark by the teachings you appreciate. What else would you add? _______________
People go to college and get lots of knowledge, if they want it. Is knowledge the same as wisdom? _____ Wisdom means applying k________, but even more, it means asking ______.
My son, attend to ____ _______; incline thine ear unto ____ ____________. Prov.4: 20.
What Bible Friend wrote down many wise sayings because he listened to God? __________
Solomon asked for w________so that he could be a good King. ‘Give therefore thy servant an __________ ______ to judge thy people that I may discern between g______ and b_____.’
I Kings 3: 9. What do you want to ‘do well’?________ How can God help? ______
Ecclesiastes, The P___________, gave us more wisdom (Eccl. 9: 1) …the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God.. Does this make you feel safe? ________
We have Science and Health because our listening leader also accepted this protection.
The Bible, also called the ___________, is so old. Why don’t we look for a more recent book? Because the Bible teaches ______________________ which is forever and does not get old. The first tenet of Christian Science says: As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life. SH 497. Good’s will for me is better than my own w______, so I follow G_____ guidance every day. I can do that because I (man) am a r___________ of divine Mind: God’s image and l_________. SH 256: 7 and SH 547: 23.
Daniel prayed to God. In a vision, a voice said Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and ___ ___ _____ for thy words. Dan. 10: 12. Two hundred years later, Jesus would reveal that man is spiritual, the C______ man. Eighteen hundred years later, MBE explained it this way: Jesus was born of Mary. Christ is the true idea ___________ ________, the divine message from God to men speaking to the human consciousness. SH 332: 9. Do you feel safe and wise when you are listening to the voice of Christ? _____ That voice comes to us as _________.
Where did MBE get her inspiration? The ______ has been my _____ authority.
SH 126: 22-31.
In Genesis, the first thing God created was ________. Gen. 1: 3. St. John said that In the beginning was the ________ and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…All things were made by him… In him was life; and the life was the _________ of men. John 1: 1-4.
MBE stayed focused on the l_________. Christian Science brings to ________ Truth and its supremacy, universal harmony, the entireness of God, good, and the nothingness of _______. SH 293: 28.
Is the practice of Christian Science hard work, or is it a delight and a joy? _______
The Psalmist said I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. Ps. 40: 8.
Paul said Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory…Let this mind ___ ___ ___, which was also in Christ Jesus: Phil. 2: 2, 3, 5.
Does Christian Science help us ‘let the mind of Christ Jesus be in us’? _____
Jesus stayed with the mind of Christ all the time. That’s why he is called _______ _______. Through the Christ, he cast out every kind of disease, even healing someone who was blind and dumb. Matt. 12: 22-26. The ‘deaf’ were sometimes called ‘dumb’ because they could not speak.
Has Christian Science healed anyone who was blind and deaf? _____ In Mary Baker Eddy: Christian Healer by Yvonne Cache von Fettweis and Robert Townsend Warneck, Amplified Edition 2009, there are five pages in the Index listing types of diseases and specific diseases healed by Mary Baker Eddy. There are healings of both blindness and deafness.
.
In the last chapter of Science and Health, called __________, people tell about their healings.
On page 620, a woman says that deafness has been overcome by an enlarged understanding of God’s word which she found in Science and Health.
On page 627- 628, a woman heard the words of Science and Health and she said, ‘God has as much for me, if I will accept it.’ She accepted it and was healed of blindness.
Three sources of the inspiration that leads to ‘wisdom, Truth, and Love’ are s______, s________, and S________. SH 234: 4. Mary Baker Eddy reminds us that All substance, intelligence, wisdom, being, immortality, cause, and effect belong to ______. SH 275: 14.
It takes w______, seeing spiritually, to see that Christian Science presents the calm and clear verdict of Truth against error…as is recorded throughout the Scriptures. SH 358: 13-18.
In this church on ____________ evenings, we have a ‘testimony meeting.’ After the Reader reads citations from the Bible and from Science and Health, people tell about their healings.
I find it very encouraging to hear these first-hand accounts of healing.
Thank you God, thank you Christ Jesus, and thank you Mary Baker Eddy for Christian Science!

God the Preserver of Man
God the Preserver of Man 6-13-10 Sara Lincoln
We ‘preserve’ food by putting it in the refrigerator. What are some foods being preserved in your refrigerator or freezer?
God-Creator preserves us-creation by putting us where
The Psalmist thought of many ways to describe how God ‘preserves’: God made everything that is in the heavens, earth, and sea and keepeth truth for ever. God executes judgment for the oppressed, gives food to the hungry, and looseth the prisoners, opens blind eyes, and raiseth those that are bowed down. Ps. 146: 6-8. You are preserved because you re_________ and man__________ God-Life.
The Psalmist said, the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever. Ps. 37: 28. What is a ‘saint’? _____________________________. Are you a saint? ______
King Ahab and Queen Jezebel worshipped a material god named B______. The Prophet Elijah did not go around the country breaking as many statue gods as he could find. Why not? ____
In I Kings 18, Elijah proved that God helps man, and that the Baal-god was only a belief because it never answered the call of its prophets. This angered the Queen and probably put a lot of people out of work who were in the business of making Baal statues. Elijah was running from the Queen, but he was also trusting God. Christian Science affirms that step by step will those who trust Him find that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” SH 444: 10.
God provided food and water as Elijah ran for safety to the ‘mount of God.’
I Kings 19: 1-8.

Did this frighten Jesus and make him try to escape? ______What did Jesus do? Luke 4: 14-16, 24-31.
Christ presents the indestructible man, whom Spirit creates, constitutes, and governs. Christ illustrates that blending with God, his divine Principle, which gives man dominion over all the earth. SH 316: 20. The Christ told Jesus how to calmly walk away and go on about his business.

That meant loss of fishing time for Simon and thus loss of income. He had been fishing all night and caught nothing. Would Jesus take advantage of Peter’s need to earn a living? ___ After his sermon, Jesus said, let’s row out again, but Peter said, what’s the use?
