Unreality

Unreality 4-4-09 Sara Lincoln

What would be an example of ‘unreality’?
What would be a synonym for ‘unreality’?

To ‘reason’ means to ______________
Can you think of something you would consider to be ‘unreasonable’?

Sometimes mortalnomind argues this way: it is unreasonable to expect spiritual reasoning to heal a physical problem. When we talk back to that argument we say…………

What does a true prophet do?
Name 5 true prophets in the Bible.
You are a true prophet because you do what?

A false prophet is a so-called ‘thought’ that argues this way: “there is life, truth, intelligence and substance in matter because God is all powerful in heaven but not on earth. Man is material because human sense says so.”
What is the true thought from Divine Mind that makes this silent argument cease?

I protect myself and others against error / unreality by ______________

Dream, belief, illusion, supposition are other names for _______________. Not one of these helps us ‘reason’ or ‘pray.’ Why not?
Does God know about unreality? __________ SH 205: 12-13

Mark tells about a woman who had a disease for 12 years. She had gone to many doctors. What did the doctors tell her? Mark 5: 25-34
The physicians could not help her because they believed the plague (disease) was true.
Is that right reasoning, to call error true? For right reasoning, doctors / physicians, and you and I need to know one fact. What is it? SH 492: 3-4

We read a textbook in order to learn about any subject. We read the textbooks of Christian Science when we want to learn about perfect God and perfect man.
What textbooks do we use? ______________________________________________
What textbook did Mary Baker Eddy use to learn about Christian Science? SH 110: 13-14

What are some truths our textbooks tell us about man?
The Bible: Gen. 1: 26, 27; Ps. 103: 2-5; Isa. 45: 22; Matt. 5: 1-12, 48.
Science and Health: see the definition of man on page 475

Did you ever try to give a reason for doing something wrong? When a person does something wrong, someone is going to say, “Why did you do that? Give me one reason why you would do such a thing!” A person who tries to give a reason for wrongdoing is trying to turn things upside down because reasoning belongs to Divine Mind and God does not give reasons for wrongdoing. Man expresses Divine Mind, not a make-believe mind.

The prophet Isaiah heard God saying, “Come now, and let us _____________ _____________, saith the Lord:” Isa. 1: 18
God wants to help us reason correctly and with inspiration.

If there are moments when we are believing unreality, Isaiah tells us what to do: “Look unto me, _______ ______ ______ _________, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and _________ _______ ________ _________”. Isa. 45: 22

Many Jews did not understand what Jesus said or did. They could have used ‘reason’ and asked Jesus to help them understand. Instead, they did something very unreasonable. They accused Jesus of ‘having a devil.’ John 10: 19-21
Jesus didn’t get angry when he was accused. He just proved that he had the Truth. He cast out
‘a devil’ that was making a person blind and deaf. Matt. 12: 22, 24, 25-28.

Science and Health advises critics to do what? SH 347: 12-14

“Christian Science raises the standard of liberty and cries: ‘Follow me! Escape from {unreality} the bondage of sickness, sin, and death!’ Jesus marked out the way.” SH 227: 21-24

Error has no real existence. No error, unreality, can attach itself to me! Thank you God!
