Is the Universe, Including Man, Evolved by Atomic Force? 12-21-08 Sara Lincoln
In 1939, material scientists discovered (split) the smallest unit of matter, the ‘atom.’ They called the atom a source of great energy, as was evident in the ‘atomic bomb.’ The destruction caused by this bomb was so great that it brought about the end of World War II.
About 50 years before the material scientists discovered the so-called force of the atom, another scientist, a spiritual scientist, was already talking about ‘atomic force.’ That spiritual scientist was Mary Baker Eddy. Twice a year, she challenges humans, especially Christians, to consider whether God or matter is creating the universe.
Does matter create or destroy man? ___ Does God destroy matter? ____ God destroys the ________ in matter. Where is the answer to the question in the title of our lesson? ____
All of us who love God, man, and the universe need to think about the words and works of the great Christly scientists: _________ _______ and ________ _______ _______.

What ‘suggests’ and ‘supposes’ that harmful things are cause and effect?
King Hezekiah was “sick unto death” so he prayed. What did he ask the Lord to remember? Isa. 38: 1, 3
Here is why the prophet Isaiah helped Hezekiah regain his health and hope: Isa. 38: 18:

Hezekiah said, thank you Lord for “thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back” Isa. 38: 7.
What are some ‘sins’ that God did not cause or create and that Hezekiah was willing to stop believing?
Maybe Hezekiah thought he had a brain, but he woke up and realized that he had ______.
If you are praying for yourself or someone else who is sick, our textbook says you need to “maintain the facts of Christian Science” SH 417: 10-16. What are these facts?
King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon made a large statue and required everyone to “fall down and worship the golden image” or be thrown into the fiery furnace if they refused. Dan. 3: 10-11. Three leaders of the Jews refused because _________________________.
What happened when they were thrown into the fiery furnace? Dan. 3: 24-25

God did not create the caduceus, an image for medicine, because God had already created ________ in His own image. SH 453: 29-30.
“Mortals are not like immortals, created in God’s own image, but infinite Spirit being all, _________ _________________ will at last yield to the ______________ _______ and disappear, and the real sense of being, ___________ and ___________ __________, will appear.” SH 295: 11
How can you always overcome evil with good? 571: 15-18
In Jesus’ time, leaders of the Jews did not understand how Jesus healed the sick and they did not like it that Jesus could do what they could not do. How did Jesus answer their challenge? John 10: 23-25
